Elevated blood sugar increases risk of death from cancer by 23-29%
Elevated fasting blood sugar levels -- above 140 mg/dL -- increase the risk of cancer death by 29 percent in men and 23 percent in women compared to people with the lowest blood sugar levels -- less than 90 mg/dL -- according to a study from Korea.

Being overweight or obese may account for 36 percent of cases of stomach cancer (gastric cardia) in the U.S..

Stomach cancer (gastric cardia): Obesity increases risk 50% to 100%
Being overweight increases the risk of of a type of stomach cancer called gastric cardia cancer by 50 percent, while being obese increases the risk 100 percent. The gastric cardia is the opening of the esophagus into the stomach and the upper portion of the stomach that adjoins this opening.
