A gut bacteria increases body fat in mice
Mice with a certain gut bacteria are more effective at releasing calories from food which increases body fat.

OBESITY VIRUSES
7 virus have been linked to obesity
"Seven viruses and a scrapie agent have been implicated in obesity," notes to a new paper. A scrapie agent is a "fatal, degenerative disease that affects the nervous systems of sheep and goats" according to Wikipedia.
