More than half of California adults are overweight

More than half of California adults are overweight or obese according to a study from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). This means that over 14 million adults over the age of eighteen have a significant weight problem. Comment
I was born and raised in Lafayette, Indiana, but moved to Irvine, California after graduating from college.
My observation when I go back to the Midwest to visit, is that people in the Midwest—Indiana and Missouri, at least—are much heavier on average than people in California, at least Southern California, where I live.
If more than half of Californians are overweight or obese, I assume it is much worse in the Midwest.
