Binge eating disorder affects 1-2% of US polulation, but 50% of those seeking weight loss surgery

Binge eating disorder is estimated to affect 1.5 to 2 percent of the U.S. population, 8 to 30 percent of those seeking standard weight loss treatments, up to half of those seeking weight loss surgery, and 70 percent of people who participate in Overeaters Anonymous according to a recent paper.
