Saccharin consumption may be associated with weight gain according to a recent study. Highest saccharin intake, 3.1 lbs weight loss

The one-third of people who consumed the most saccharin—consuming more than 28 grams per day—gained the most weight - on average 3.1 lbs over four years.

This data along with more recent studies suggest that artificial sweeteners are associated with weight gain, perhaps by stimulating food intake.

Subjects: 465 people interviewed 4 yrs apart

The study interviewed 465 people four years apart.
