340 mg of glucomannan before each meal increased weight loss by 2.9 lbs

Women given 340 mg of glucomannan before meals and who were on a 1200 calorie per day diet lost an average of 8.4 pounds in five weeks compared to 5.5 pounds for those given a placebo, a difference of 2.9 pounds, according to a study from the University of Tromso in Tromso, Norway. Doses
Doses: 340 mg of glucomannan before each meal
The women took 6 tablets fifteen minutes before each meal and 4 tablets at 3 PM.
The fiber supplement they took was called Chrombalance.
Each tablet contained:
- 56 mg of glucomannan
This means that before each meal they took:
- 340 mg of glucomannan
And at 3 PM they took
- 225 mg of glucomannan
The total daily intake was:
- 1240 mg of glucomannan
Low Doses As Effective
420 mg of glucomannan per day as effective as 4320 mg
The authors of this study noted that 420 mg of glucomannan per day, as used in this study, was as effective doses 10 times this high used in another study they performed.
Subjects: 52 women
The study involved 52 mild to moderately overweight women who were 19- to 60-years-old.
