    A low glycemic diet increases weight loss by 2.4 pounds more than a standard diet according to a review of six previous studies. Cholesterol

    Low glycemic diet lowers cholesterol by 8-9 points compared to standard diet

    A low glycemic diet also decreased total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol by 8-9 points more than with a standard diet.

    “Lowering the glycaemic load of the diet appears to be an effective method of promoting weight loss and improving lipid profiles and can be simply incorporated into a person’s lifestyle,” the authors concluded.
