As of 2007, 26.4 percent of US men and 24.8 percent of US women are obese for a total of 25.6 percent of US adults. This according to data from the 2007 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) survey analyzed by the US Centers for Disease Control. Survery

The BRFSS “is an ongoing, state-based, random-digit—dialed telephone survey of the noninstitutionalized U.S. civilian population aged 18 years [or older].”
“To maintain consistency with previous analyses, respondents with self-reported weight 500 pounds [or more] or height 7 feet [or more] were excluded.”
