A high fiber cereal reduced calorie intake in men at the next meal by 172 calories

Men who ate a high-fiber cereal which contained 33 grams of insoluble fiber, ate 173 fewer calories at the next meal compared to men who ate a low-fiber cereal according to a study from the University of Toronto in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Calorie intake
Calorie intake: 937 calories after high-fiber cereal vs 119 calories after low-fiber cereal
Men who ate the high-fiber cereal consumed an average of 937 calories compared to 1109 calories after eating a low-fiber cereal.
Those who were given only water consumed an average of 1224 calories at the next meal.

“A serving of 33 [grams] insoluble fiber reduced appetite, lowered food intake, and reduced glycemic response to a meal consumed 75 min later,” the researchers concluded.
