A difference of about 60 pounds increases the risk of leukemia 1.5-fold in women according to a study from the University of Oxford in Oxford, England. Subects

Subjects: 1.2 million women

The study analyzed data from 1.2 million women who were part of the Million Woman Study.

The women were 50- to 64-years-old in 1996-2001 and were followed for an average of 5.4 years to see if they got cancer, and 7 years to see if they died from cancer.
