Losing 30% of excess weight improves or resolves type 2 diabetes in 88% of patients

Type 2 diabetes is improved or resolved in 88 percent of people who lose even 30 percent of their excess weight following weight loss surgery according to findings presented on June 18th, 2008 in Washington, DC at the annual meeting of the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery.
Researchers from New York University School of Medicine followed 50 patients for two years who had undergone gastric band surgery. REFERENCE
