Patients lose an average of 113 lbs going from gastroplasty/banding to Roux-en-Y gastric bypass

Seventy (70) patients who had unsatisfactory weight loss following gastroplasty/banding weight loss surgery, but who underwent a second surgery to revise the procedure to Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery, lost an average of 113 pounds or 16 units of body mass index (BMI) after having a according to an analysis by two surgeons.
