One-fourth of U.S. children do not exercise

Approximately one-fourth of U.S. children (22.6 percent) do not engage in any free-time activity according to a study by the Centers for Disease Control.
Nearly two-thirds of children (61.5 percent) do not do not participate in any organized physical activity during their nonschool hours.
The study was called the YMC Longitudinal Survey (YMCLS) which was a nationally representative survey of children 9- 13-year-olds and their parents.
