    U.S. adults increased fluid intake from 79 fluid ounces to 100 fluid ounces, however, water consumption only increased from 43 fluid ounces to 45 fluid ounces according to a paper from according to a paper by Barry M. Popkin and Kiyah J. Duffey from the Department of Nutrition at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA. REFERENCE
