Ephedrine and caffeine increases athletic performance 20 to 30 percent according to a review of ephedrine studies by the RAND Corporation.
Ephedrine and Caffeine
Ephedrine alone or caffeine alone did not increase athletic performance, however, ephedrine and caffeine consistently improved performance by 20 to 30 percent.
Their analysis included eight published studies using synthetic ephedrine. All but one also included caffeine.
There were no studies of the effects of ephedra on athletic performance.
