The predicted weight loss for a 40-year-old, 297 pound sedentary man who does not change his physical activity, but reduces his calorie intake is as follows according to a new model by Kevin D. Hall and Peter N. Jordan from the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, USA:
- 100 calories per day is roughly 16 lbs
- 200 calories per day is roughly 31 lbs
- 300 calories per day is roughly 46 lbs
- 400 calories per day is roughly 60 lbs
- 500 calories per day is roughly 74 lbs
- 600 calories per day is roughly 87 lbs
- 700 calories per day is roughly 99 lbs
- 800 calories per day is roughly 111 lbs
- 900 calories per day is roughly 123 lbs
- 1,000 calories per day is roughly 133 lbs
- 1,100 calories per day is roughly 143 lbs
- 1,200 calories per day is roughly 153 lbs
- 1,300 calories per day is roughly 162 lbs
