The predicted weight loss for a 40-year-old, 396 pound sedentary woman of average height who does not change her physical activity, but reduces her calorie intake is as follows according to a new model by Kevin D. Hall and Peter N. Jordan from the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, USA:
- 100 calories per day is roughly 21 lbs
- 200 calories per day is roughly 41 lbs
- 300 calories per day is roughly 60 lbs
- 400 calories per day is roughly 80 lbs
- 500 calories per day is roughly 99 lbs
- 600 calories per day is roughly 118 lbs
- 700 calories per day is roughly 137 lbs
- 800 calories per day is roughly 155 lbs
- 900 calories per day is roughly 173 lbs
- 1,000 calories per day is roughly 190 lbs
- 1,100 calories per day is roughly 206 lbs
- 1,200 calories per day is roughly 222 lbs
- 1,300 calories per day is roughly 238 lbs
- 1,400 calories per day is roughly 252 lbs
- 1,500 calories per day is roughly 266 lbs
