Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery lost 29% of their body weight after 6 months

Seriously obese patients who underwent Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery lost 29% of their body weight after six months according to a recent study.
This represented 60% of their excess body weight. Fat Loss
Fat loss: 77% of weight loss
Roughly three-fourths (77%) of the weight loss was fat loss, and one-fourth (23%) was loss of lean body mass.
The data involved 31 patients (4 males and 27 females) with an average body mass index (BMI) of 44.4, and average age of 37-years-old.
