“Influential randomized [drug] trials are largely done by and for the benefit of the [drug] industry,” notes John Ioannidis from Stanford University.

Meaning that they are not done to find scientific truth, but are simply done to sell more drugs.

Later he continues on this topic by saying, “It is just that they often ask the wrong questions with the wrong short-term surrogate outcomes, the wrong analyses, the wrong criteria for success… , and the wrong inferences, but who cares about these minor glitches?”
