Saunas 4-7 times per week associated with 65% lower risk of Alzheimer’s

Men who took a sauna 4-7 times per week were 65% less likely to get Alzheimer’s compared to men who took a sauna once a week according to a Finnish study that followed 2,315 healthy men aged 42-60 years at baseline for an average of 21 years.
This was after adjusting for age, alcohol consumption, body mass index (BMI), systolic blood pressure, smoking status, Type 2 diabetes, previous heart attack, resting heart rate and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels.
Data from the Kuopio Ischaemic Heart Disease study
The researchers analyzed data is from the Kuopio Ischaemic Heart Disease population-based prospective cohort study of 2,315 healthy men aged 42-60 years at baseline, with baseline examinations conducted between 1984 and 1989.

Saunas associated with lower risk of death and lower risk of cardiovascular disease
This research group has also reported that frequent sauna use is associated with a lower risk of death.
