An analysis of 2,541 COVID-19 patients hospitalized between March 10, 2020 and May 2, 2020 across Henry Ford Health System’s six (6) hospitals found that patients given hydroxychloroquine alone were 66% less likely to die than patients who were not given the drug, and those given hydroxychloroquine plus azithromycin were 71% less likely to die.
None of the patients given hydroxychloroquine, with or without azithromycin, developed heart arrhythmias.
Among a subset of 380 COVID-19 patients (190 + 190) who were matched for age, gender, race, etc., those given hydroxychloroquine alone were 51% less likely to die than matched patients who were not given the drug.
