Only 6% of Covid deaths were caused by Covid-19 alone according to CDC

The other 94% had an average of 2.6 additional causes or conditions which contributed to the cause of death the CDC noted.

(Note: The Ethical Skeptic on Twitter has said that an additional 22% had comorbidities that would not have killed them in the next year, so the total number killed by Covid-19 alone should be 28% rather than 6%.)

 

The CDC wrote:

“Table 3 shows the types of health conditions and contributing causes mentioned in conjunction with deaths involving coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). For 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned. For deaths with conditions or causes in addition to COVID-19, on average, there were 2.6 additional conditions or causes per death.”
