Fish eaters weigh about 7 pounds less than meat eaters according to a 1996 study from Britain.
Vegetarians who consume dairy or eggs weigh about the same as fish eaters, however strict vegetarians called vegans - those who consume no animal products at all, not even milk, eggs or cheese - were the thinnest of all. They weighed about 10-13 pounds less than meat eaters.
This data was compiled from 3947 men and 17,158 women who were recruited from vegetarian and health food societies, shops, and magazines for the European prospective investigation into cancer and nutrition.
Participants were thinner on average than the general population.
