"Our findings provide conclusive proof that European Neandertals... lived on a diet of mainly hunted animal meat," said Fred H. Smith, anthropologist from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois.
This comes from a chemical analysis of bones found in a 28,000-year-old Croatian cave.
Neandertals are our human ancestors who lived in Europe and the Middle East from about 130,000 years ago until 28,000 years ago.
Apparently eating a high-meat diet as is not an unnatural act.
