Obesity increases the risk of Type 2 diabetes more than any other disease. Coffee consumption reduces the risk according to a new paper from Amsterdam. 6-7 cups reduces risk 35%, 4-6 cups by 28%

People who consume 6 or 7 or more cups of coffee are 35 percent less likely to be diagnosed with type 2 diabetes compared to those who consume 0 to 2 cups per day, and those consuming 4 to 6 cups per day are 28 percent less likely according to a new paper from Amsterdam.

Previous studies found greater reduction in risk

Previous studies have found a greater reduction in risk, finding that coffee may reduce the risk in men by 27-55% and reduce the risk in women by 29-79%.

Heavy coffee drinkers 4-5 lbs heavier

However, heavy coffee drinkers are 4-5 pounds heavier than light coffee drinkers according to a recent study.
