Eating an apple before a meal reduces calorie intake by 190 calories

Normal weight people who ate 1.5 medium peeled apples, which contained about 125 calories, ate an average of 187 fewer calories at lunch than people who were given applesauce or nothing according to a study from Barbara Rolls at Pennsylvania State University who has written a lot about how eating bulky foods that are low in calories -- low calore dense foods -- reduces food intake. Foods that you have to chew are more satisfying
This study also shows that foods that you have to chew are more satisfying than foods that you don’t.
Previous studies have found similar results.
