    Exercise is necessary for the loss of belly fat in diabetic women according to a new study. Diet or diet plus exercised caused an average weight loss of 9.9 lbs in three months

    Women lost a similar amount of weight with diet or diet plus exercise.

    Both groups lost an average of approximately 9.9 pounds in a little over three months, however, only the diet plus exercise had a loss of visceral fat, that is belly fat that surrounds internal organs.

    Subjects: 33 obese postmenopausal diabetic women

    The study involved 33 obese postmenopausal diabetic women with an average body mass index (BMI) of 34.6.
