Five deaths in the UK have been associated with Acomplia (rimonobant)

Acomplia (rimonobant) has been cited in 5 deaths and 720 adverse drug reactions in the UK according to figures published on June 3rd, 2008 by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
One person on the drug committed suicide. Another person died from an infection, while three others died from heart attacks.
The European Union approved Acomplia in 2006. Psychiatric Reactions
Psychiatric reactions made up 44% of adverse reactions
As of the end of January 2008, there had been 673 adverse drug reports and 1971 individual reactions.
Forty-four percent of all of these—876 out of the 1971 reported reactions—were psychiatric reactions.
The most common psychiatric reactions were depression and mood disorders.
Suicidal Thoughts
52 reports of thoughts of suicide or self-harming behaviors
Fifty-two (52) reactions involved thoughts of suicide or self-harming behaviors, most of which (42 reports) were thoughts of suicide.
