GLUCOMANNAN ADDED TO A NORMAL CALORIE DIET caused as much weight loss as a low calorie diet according a recent study.
For one month patients were either put on a diet of 2,000 calories per day and given one gram of glucomannan before breakfast and lunch or put on a diet of 1,200 calorie per day without glucomannan. The glucomannan group lost an average of 10.4 lbs compared to 10.7 lbs in the low calorie group. Glucomannan is a dietary fiber that has been a part of Japanese diet for 1,000 years.
