Mini-gastric bypass helps patients lose half to three-fourths of their excess weight

A type of weight loss surgery known as a minigastric bypass, helped seven morbidly obese patients lose between 45 percent and 78 percent of their excess weight according to a paper from Romania. 7 people, BMI 53-72
The study involved seven morbidly obese patients with a body mass index (BMI) of between 53 and 72.
Minimally invasive
The procedure is performed laproscopically, that is with long instruments through a small incision in the abdominal wall.
