Phentermine overdose: A case report of a 20-year-old woman taking 15 tablets

A 20-year-old woman with a history of anorexia nervosa was admitted to the hospital's intensive care unit after an unintentional overdose of phentermine that she had obtain over the internet. 15 tablets, 37.5 mg of phentermine each, during an 8 hour period
She said she had taken fifteen phentermine tablets over the course of eight hours, each tablet containing 37.5 mg of phentermine.
Symptoms: rapid speech, the feeling of bugs on her skin, and seeing black dots, followed by seizures
Her symptoms were rapid speech, the feeling of bugs on her skin, and seeing black dots. She then started having seizures.
Full recovery in two days
She fully recovered after two days.
The authors concluded that care needs to be taken when drugs are prescribed over the internet.
