Sleep apnea is a manifestation of the metabolic syndrome according to a new paper from Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania, USA. Association between sleep apnea, sleepiness, inflammation, and insulin resistance which promotes cardiovascular disease
“Accumulating evidence provides support to our model of the… association between sleep apnea, sleepiness, inflammation, and insulin resistance, all promoting atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease,” the author concluded.
Comment: This is a very interesting paper. This is the first time that this has been suggested as far as I know. This suggests the seriousness of sleep apnea also.
