Meal replacement shakes for breakfast and lunch help people lose 20 pounds

People drinking Slim-Fast meal replacement shakes for two meals a day, and eating a low-fat evening meal lost as much weight as people following a 1400 calorie per day diet.
3 Months Weight Loss: 13.2 lbs vs 14.5 lbs
in the Slim-Fast group lost an average of 13.2 pounds in three months compared to 14.5 pounds for those in the low-calorie, low-fat group.
6 Months Weight Loss: 19.8 lbs vs 20.2 lbs
After six months, the Slim-Fast group had lost an average of 19.8 pounds compared to 20.2 pounds for the low-calorie, low-fat group.
Better compliance and convenience
Inerestingly, the Slim-Fast group rated meal replacement shakes as more convenient and easier to comply with than people in the low-calorie, low-fat group.
“We concluded meal replacement is equally effective for losing weight compared with conventional but structured weight-loss diets,” the authors of the study concluded.
