SlimFast: 18-23 lbs difference after five years

Women maintained a weight loss of 7.9 pounds after five years of using meal replacements compared to a weight gain of +10.3 pounds in controls.
Men using meal replacements maintained a loss of -13 pounds versus a gain of +9.9 pounds in controls.
The study was conducted in rural Wisconsin and started with 51 men and 107 women who were given free Slim-Fast shakes and Slim-Fast Bars at the local grocery store. Control data was obtained from 215 patients in three major medical centers located in the same area.
