Tenuate (diethylpropion) appears to improve vision and nystagmus, a rapid involuntary oscillation of the eyeballs, according to a case report from The National Eye Institute, a part of The National Institutes of Health.

A woman with congenital nystagmus was found to have a decrease in eye movement, improved vision and improved ability to see three dimensional depth.

Her involuntary eye movement decreased from 12 to 4 prism diopters.

Her vision improved from 20/70 to 20/50.

Her stereopsis (ability to perceive three-dimensional depth) increased from none to 200 seconds/arc.
