Women who reported sleeping 5 hours of sleep or less gained 2.4 pounds more over a sixteen year period than women who reported sleeping 7 hours per night according to a study from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. 6 Hours Sleep
6 hours sleep: 1.5 lbs more weight gain
Women who reported getting 6 hours of sleep per night gained 1.5 pounds more during the sixteen year follow-up than those getting seven hours per night.

Women getting 5 hours sleep 15% more likely to be obese
Women who reported getting 5 hours of sleep or less per night were 15 percent more likely to be obese.
Women getting 5 hours sleep 6% more likely to be obese
Those getting 6 hours of sleep were 6 percent more likely to be obese.
