Obese Japanese people given two (2) tablespoons (30 ml) of vinegar per day—one tablespoon after lunch and one tablespoon after dinner—lost 4.2 pounds in three (3) months, dropping from roughly 161 lbs to 157 lbs, compared to no weight loss in the placebo group according to a 2009 study from Japan.
(Obesity in Japan is defined as having a body mass index (BMI) of 25-30 compared to obesity elsewhere being defined as having a BMI of 30 or more.)
